Our Story
Like many stories you’ve heard, SHIELD was born out of adversity and challenge. Many of us find that during seasons of hardship, our true needs become defined with renewed clarity and Kingdom-purpose has a greater opportunity to take shape. It’s through these times that we are challenged to lean in, learn and grow. Our story is no different.
Over a decade ago a young couple dropped everything they knew, their worldly success and comforts, to follow Jesus. While they had already known and professed faith in Jesus Christ, this was something new; something more.
God would take their united “yes, Lord” and usher them into valley lows and mountain-top highs. These experiences would prove to be training grounds for Kingdom-purpose that was yet to be revealed. It is here they would learn what complete surrender and dependency on God really meant and the faith it would take to walk it out.
Through years of shepherding and community involvement, it was evident that a stark contrast had been drawn in the lives of those they served. Why were some experiencing greater fulfillment & purpose while others seemed to struggle? Why were some seeing miraculous provision while others were conflicted over stewardship? How was it that some were experiencing joy and favor, but others seemed to grow agitated and restless with the wait? How could some walk through difficulty with peace and others in distress?
The labor and journey for the Kingdom-minded individual was noticeably different from those that were focused on the here and now.
Jesus came so that the Kingdom of God would once again be accessible to mankind. In today’s modern world this is often only viewed as a reality once we pass from this earth into our Heavenly eternity. Yet, Jesus taught us to pray expectantly inviting Heaven to earth! Jesus came not only to save us from sin but to re-establish the Kingdom of God through His rescued people right here and right now! (Matthew 6:9-13)
SHIELD was born for the modern-day saints in the marketplace. We are an invitation for those seeking to establish the Kingdom of God through their enterprises and for those yet to receive their place in the Kingdom.
